You should all very well know by now, I am by far not a serious person. I enjoy looking at the bright side of life and seeing the good in the living.
However, what I'm about to tell you is not a happy subject- Its very serious and is in need of your attention, and the worlds.

Human beings, we are supposedly the smartest species on the earth- If this is so, how can we do this to the very planet we live on now?
For example; This was one of the many great glaciers http://www.livescience.com/images/030324_glacierB_03.jpg shown here. The first photo was around forty to thirty years ago, the second is its present state.
Its shocking how much the ice has receded, and its not just a 'little snow' melting either;
Its effecting us all- Including a usually very hardy species, The Polar bear.
With the glaciers receding they are losing stable land ice to rest on, Thus many polar bears have drowned trying to find a suitable http://www.tropical-rainforest-animals.com/image-files/polarbear.jpg home.
They are left stranded to die because of one thing; Co2 emissions.
Our co2 emissions from fossil fuel alone has risen from a little over one thousand at 1951 to over seven thousand at 2001.
If it was at 7k in 01, think of it now.

The snow has receded a good few miles. In less than ten years- it will no longer snow on Kilimanjaro. Once again this is all because of our co2 green house gas.

If the human race is as smart and intellectual as we like to think, why didn't we hear the cries years ago; They were there.
From scientists, to children TV shows- They were there.

There is hope, though.

Change a light bulb, Replacing a regular light bulb with one of the funny looking swirly fluorescent ones will save 150 pounds of co2 a year.

Plant a tree, a tree will absorb one TON of co2 over its lifetime.

Have one day a week without meat,
If you don't eat meat for one day a week you will save up too 35,000 gallons of water.

Unplugging things not in use ex. Toasters, hair dryers or fans, can save up to 20% of your home energy use.

Simply turning off your TV, computer, or radio when its not in use will save 3000 or more pounds of co2 every year.

Its up to us to fix our mistakes, and like my saying goes "If YOU fuck it up, YOU clean it up."

^{H-honestly, I am Canadian so I hear a lot about CO2, effects of golbal warming and tons of things about polar bears.

It is a very serious problem, and it deffinantly saddens me to think naturally occuring things like glaciers which are very beautiful are melting, and that polar bears are being forced from their homes and into northern Quebec and Ontario cities...but really.

People say this to huge auddiences. Ones house 100 000 people, sometimes even a million. And not everybody does something.

I am not going to stop eating meat.

Or turning of my radio, since I use it to sleep.

Before I'm motivated to do things to help the climate I'd like shark finning to stop. Sharks are a species which is seriously endangered, even more-so than polar bears.

But sharks are not cute. Neither are the plant species that are being wiped out every day.

I'm not saying this as a personal attack against you, but everybody is stuck on global warming.

It's killing off a "cute" species.

Nobody cares about genocides that could possibly currently going on in 3rd world countries. Or the "ugly or dangerous" species dying off.

I feel like it's just "polar bears, polar bears, polar bears".

And I am sick of it.

Yeah, I agree. Shark finning DOES have to stop. Personally I think there adorable but thats just me.
I have posted something already once before about plant species, frog species, and the endangered fish on other websites; and it made me think- why don't people listen? Because its not something that effects us all.
Though I highly disagree with that, people have told me so. In which made my anger raise sky fucking high.

Human-kind really is the most frightening and deadly species- Yet we are confronted with them everyday, So many people don't see the truth.

something to add onto what ishkabbible said. people preach to over millions of the population to stop doing whatever, because it's harming animals and whatnot. people are not hive mind and they never will be, we all have a different way on thinking, our own opinions, etc. some people are very greedy, and some are very kind. things like this cannot brainwash anybody, it just throws out somebody's opinion. some may agree, some may disagree, on whatever reason.
